Black Rapid RS-W1 Women’s Strap | PhotographyBLOG.
I got myself on of these straps, the normal one that is….;)….and I’m very happy with it. You have both hands free and when you do need to grab the camera for a shot, you can do that with such ease, you wonder why they don’t have it in the box with the camera.
These people are not serious. First they cause the crisis, then they get bailed out and because of this bail-out, countries are in trouble and have to take drastic measures, one of them being that the banks cannot go on like they used to do and these same banks warn against reform? The audacity alone.
Part of this reform is to generate a buffer, big enough to accommodate any future bank crisis. So as not to have the taxpayer pay for mismanagement by the banks.
First, the taxpayer pays money so the Governments have a buffer to work with. The banks have caused the crisis and have all been bailed out, but the governments with taxpayer’s money. Secondly, the governments now have a problem, a budget deficit and have to implement drastic measures, for one, so that the Eurozone doesn’t fall apart. Who is going to have to pay for these measures? The taxpayer again. Thirdly, if such bank reforms take place, these same banks will only charge their customers and pass on their extra costs to them. So in effect, we’re paying 3 times for the whole crisis.
Two crisis are complementing each other, first the financial one and secondly the country crisis. The countries bailed out the banks, now the countries don’t have much money which they owe to these same banks……totally confusing and crazy.
The biggest scandal in our lifetime is the fact that the taxpayers are being asked to pay for something they did not help create.
Have fun, wherever you are….
Just installed the wordpress app for iPhone. There really must be an app for almost anything you can think of.
Now let’s see if this app is stable an this gets posted.
I haven’t written in a while, but today is a good day to start again. Why? Well, here goes.
You know those moments where a certain idea comes into your head and stays there till you have gone through with it. In some cases it is a good idea to implement at home or work, but there are also those times when it has to do with food. You crave or want a certain kind of food or meal, your mind will do everything in its power to prepare you for that meal. The brain starts informing your mouth of how it tastes like, it informs your body to prepare itself and you even think of where you’d sit in the restaurant.
And so today, I had decided to go and have some Kenkey and Fried Fish in Frankfurt. I’m working in the village called Kronberg and while you can get the general Italian or Thai, sometimes you really want something from back home. So there’s this restaurant in Frankfurt, the Kenkey House on Gutleutstr. 145 in the Gutleutviertel. I was actually going to go there on Tuesday, but that got cancelled and today, the weather was great, I thought I’d go and have some kenkey.
Having prepared myself almost the whole day, I call my new Kenyan friend, Mr. Mugo who was part of the training and invite him to come along. We’re going to have some nice Ghanaian food, I said. So, we go to the station, take the S-bahn (fits between a tram and a train) from Kronberg to Frankfurt and then the 10 min walk from the station. Remember, weather is great. We get there and this is what I see….
I am in total shock. I’m thinking, the door is just closed and all I need to do is open it. But looking at the steps, these haven’t been used in ages. So I stand there amazed that it is actually closed and I slowly realize that it’s not just closed, as in closed for the day, but it’s “closed”. As in the restaurant is not there anymore. I slowly start using those f, s and a letter words I know in 4 languages. At this point, Mr. Mugo is laughing and I’m still spilling out these words.
Anyways, here is proof that the place is really closed. For a while you don’t want to believe it. Not only because it is closed, but your brain starts searching for alternatives. It has to rearrange all the data it had sent earlier on in the day, coz if the body gets angry……..hmmmm. Nothing seemed to match……McDonalds was the only thing that would come to mind. In the end, we walked back towards the station, me still cursing in all languages and settled for O’Reily’s. Talk about going from Ghanaian food to Irish food. Had some BBQ Ribs and Fries at the corner with Porsche and BMW sounds and exhaust fumes behind me.
A good laugh, to end the week of rain and cold.

Due to bad risk management, it is believed that banks and other financial institutions are responsible for the financial crisis we’ve been having for the past few years. What happens then?
First Payment. In order for these same banks to stay alive, governments pour loads of money into the financial system. Taxpayers money.
Second Payment. The current rates at which banks can borrow money is very low. Money that the banks borrow from the central banks. But these same banks do not charge that low interest rate to customers. So customers needing to borrow money have to pay a higer percentage.
Third form of payment. Due to the fact that the governments have spent all this money, there are serious budget deficits and who has to fill it up? So in all……it looks like we’re paying 3 times as much for this whole crisis thing.
Ah, maybe a fourth one…….for those in Europe, Greece might need (re)financing……lol. All in all, bad management is once again paying off.
Have fun, wherever you are….
I believe everyone should have some form of an addiction. When it’s a “good” addiction, we say it’s something we like very much. When it’s a “bad” one, like smoking, we then call it an addiction. The bottom line is that it is something one likes very much.
Ah well, so my new addiction. It’s called Knoppers and you can buy it in any of the Aldi. It’s a crispy Milk & Hazelnut Wafel. Super delicious and……….addictive. hahahahaha. It’s made by Storck, the same company that makes Merci. It is dangerously delicious and very easy to take a whole box with you to the payment counter.
Happy Knopping, wherever you are….
You train terribly hard, you race and are second. You train even harder so that in four years time, you can achieve Gold. In the last four years of training and racing, you loose only once. All other races, you win and leave the competition behind. The day then comes where the whole world is watching, expecting, hoping that you win Gold and win it in style.
All your competition race and you are the last to race. You know your time is up and you’ve worked so very hard to this moment. You know the time you have to clock and you start your race. Everything falls into place like clockwork. You’re racing the perfect race and heading for Gold. Your time is like none before, you don’t feel any pain and you’re racing according to a scheme you have played in your head countless times.
But then…….
Concentration is at its peak…….and a capital mistake is made. You know you’re in the right lane, but your coach points you to another lane thinking you are in the wrong lane. Split second…..you doubt and in a matter of seconds you take the advice of your coach. You continue racing the perfect race……for the ultimate, Gold.
The atmosphere in the Oval drops, the nation is in shock, your trainer realizes his mistake, he wishes he could dig a hole and just slide in. Your father speaks words which can only be lip-read, as you come round the bend you see your girlfriend with her head in her hands, it dawns on you that there is something really wrong, but admission comes later. The clocks in the Oval are all confused and you ride the perfect race with a time 4 seconds faster than the just set Olympic Record.
The Golden Race………your coach comes to you after the race and gives you the news of your disqualification. Words can’t describe your emotions; do words ever? You realize what a capital mistake you have made. Or was it the mistake of your coach? After all, he pointed to the “wrong” lane.
This happened to Sven Kramer during the 10km speedskating race. Holland is in shock and cannot understand why this happened. A trainer never tells his skater which lane he or she should go to. The skater does this automatically. It’s like breathing, second nature. You could also say that the skater should have known what he was doing and should have stayed his course. Who is to blame? I think both of them. The both made a capital mistake in the heat of the moment. You are still World Champion at this distance, but Olympic Champion is something else.
What do you do now? Process this moment, the loss, the confusion, pick up the pieces and work another four years to the next moment and show the world that you are really the best. And if you ask me, do it with the same coach.
Work hard, wherever you are….
A new set of Albums has been added
Well, it looks like the move from PixelPost to WordPress went fine and no issues with the databases. It’s great when a plan comes together.
The Sunset/Sunrise Album has also been updated.
