At Kinderdijk, just outside Rotterdam, you will find 19 windmills which have been kept intact since 1740. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997, the windmills are lit up once a year for a week. Rain clouds, flood- and city lights give a lovely warm effect.

Antoni Gaudi, Catalan architect who almost never finished a project. Such was the detail in his work, that even today, some of his work cannot be finished. La Pedrera is a building on the Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona and one of Gaudi’s great works. On ther roof there are a number of ventilation shafts and this is a closeup of the curves that are very characteristic in his design.
